Golf
Golf is one of the most popular sports played. Not only is it played by so many, it is also watched on television by many more. On one hand golf is big business with a lot of high profile athlete and sponsorship deals and tournaments. On the other hand it is a social activity and an activity used as a means of fitness. A round of 18 holes does involve a lot of walking, and usually also means carrying a heavy bag of golf clubs (or pulling a trailer). Not everyone has the luxury of a motorized cart for this.
Due to all this walking, which is done one the feet, golf can predispose to a number of problems with the feet (and not to mention the back and other parts of the body). To prevent these problems, a good pair of supportive gold shoes is definitely needed. If you are a beginner, 18 holes is going to be too much and it will take time to adapt to the distance that need to be walked. For any on-going foot problems, it may pay to see a podiatrist to get help. Often golf foot orthotics make a big difference to the comfort and ability to complete the 18 holes and make the experience more enjoyable.
